HEAVY METAL CONCENTRATIONS IN FISH (Albula vulpes) OF BENIN RIVER IN RELATION TO HUMAN HEALTH
نویسندگان
چکیده
Health risk assessment of heavy metal contamination in humans through consumption Albula vulpes from Benin River, Koko Town (Southern Nigeria) was studied. Assessment concentrations conducted the liver, kidney and muscles fishes using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer. Mean for Zn, Cd, Pb, Mn, As Ni A. were 0.69, 0.20, 0.04, 0.16, 0.13 0.23mg/kg 0.29, 0.08, 0.02, 0.06, 0.05 0.09mg/kg muscle, 0.61, 0.18, 0.03, 0.14, 0.11 0.20mg/kg respectively. Target hazard quotients (THQs) As, Ni, Mn Zn 0.0010, 0.0007, 0.0214, 0.0006, 0.0001 0.0001. The highest THQ value Arsenic (0.0214). least (0.0001). total (TTHQ) 0.0239 this less than 1, suggesting that is unlikely to cause any adverse health effects consumers.

Heavy Metals Concentrations and Human Health Risk Assessment for Three Common Species of Fish from Karkheh River, Iran
Background: The concentrations of heavy metals in the tissues and organs of fishes indicate the concentrations of heavy metals in water and their accumulation in food chains. In the present study, the concentrations of Zn, Cu, Cd, Ni, V and Pb in three common species of fish and the potential health risks to local residents via consumption of the fishes were estimated. Methods: The con...

Statistical t tests were used to determine lead, copper, and chromium enrichment in sediments from the Lower Branch of the Rouge River in southeast Michigan, USA. Both absolute metal concentrations and ratios of trace metal to conservative metal concentrations were used to compare sampled sites along the Lower Branch of the Rouge River to background sites in the headwaters region. Concentration...
